Day 7 - Construction Ends (for the most part)

Another sunrise and the house is almost done. By the end of today the volunteers will be moving furniture in and the designers will kick into high gear in order to finish what the builders started, and finish the house.

For the most part, the major construction is done and everyone is working on the finishing touches, like painting...

...and bringing in the new (Craftsman of course) appliances...

Ever wonder how much paint you need to have on hand to paint a 5300 square foot house?

Below the camera crew is filming the installation of the playground material.

Here is a volunteer working on the wiring for some of the hi-tech features of the house.

It's really hard to tell from all of the smiling faces that Charlotte is having record high temperatures. Here (below) is a very nice lady who I impressed by telling her that I just learned how to use a sewing machine to stitch together my camera harness. Ok, maybe impressed isn't the right choice of words.

More smiling faces, even though it was like an oven in the house. It may be close to being finished, but the A/C isn't running just yet.

Below a volunteer helps out some of the folks that came out to watch the project by spraying them down with mist from a pressure washer.

Late in the day and... "We've got the keys..!!!"

And whith that, the volunteers help move the furniture in the house. The construction may be done, but there is still a LOT left to do before we bring the family home tomorrow...!!!

Here (below) is Ed signing the album that your intrepid photographer/blogger, fellow Still Image Productions photographers David Hartfield and Cesar Palacio... AND 803labs will give to the family. The album is only 3/4 done, with room left for the image from the digital camera we gave to them to take with them on their trip to Porto Rico, and the photos that we will shoot tomorrow when they get to see their new house after we "Move That Bus...!!!"
